Mattupetty dam Munnar

Mattupetty dam not far away from the Anamudi peak is Mattupetty. Situated in the famous hill town of Munnar, Mattupetty located 13 km from Munnar is situated at a height of 1700 m, and is a delight for nature lovers.Here you can enjoy the greenish valleys and feel the Fabulous climate around. The Place  created by the dam itself is beautiful.There is a resort at one end which has boating and other facilities, everything of which is ticketed. The boat rides are enjoyable and the boat crews are well trained and hospitable.

The Mattupetty dam and Lake, just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. The sprawling Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake are other attractions in the vicinity. DTPC Idukki provides boating facilities on the Mattupetty Dam. Speed launch and motorboats are available on hire. There is a beautiful garden with more than 250 varieties of roses in Mattupetty.

Mattupetty damThere we can see 64 varieties of dianthus, innumerable dahlias and many other flowers. The farm is around three kilometer away from the Mattupetty Dam and is dedicated to Cattle Development and Research Center Munnar set up by the Government of Switzerland. At present the project is handled by the Kerala Livestock Development and Milk Marketing Board. The best seasons to visit the place is from the month of August to May and it is very easily accessible from Munnar town.

Indo-Swiss Farm visiting Timings- 9.00 am to 11.00 am and 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm.

Entrance Fee- Rs.300 (15 min/5 people) Big Boat- Rs. 700 (30 min/20 people).
